Time to talk about myself like I’m cool.

Guess who is now a published photographer?! Holla!!! Its not shooting fashion for Flaunt or Nylon like I want to be, but its a good start! So my job at the fabrics company wasn’t just photographing fabrics for the website, it was also creating ads for new product. Well me and the media coordinator did a shoot last week and it got approved. It will be seen in the Florida Design Center - not in Cali but whatevs! - as well as their website and future editorial usage!! This is super cool considering I graduated Brooks less than a year ago (Dec. 07) and I bet you anything the other kids I was in classes with don’t have anything published yet.

This couldn’t of come at a better time though… As some of you may remember, I’ve been hating on myself for a while now. So this is one good kick in the butt…

In 2009, I’m going to starting working on my portfolio again… Why? Well, in December of ‘09, my mom and I are going to NYC and I’m going to shop my portfolio around. :dead: So yeah, I’m giving myself a year. LOL

Alright… I will continue on being my dorky self.

Welp… I’m now part of corporate America… *hides* I got a job photographing fabrics for a company down here. It’s part time, which is great for me because it stills leaves me 3 and half days to hang out here with my mom and take care of her. The pay is pretty good, I’m starting at the same rate that I worked over a year for at my last job, so maybe in a year’s time - I’ll be making more. lol Today was my first day and it went ok - I have my own workspace to shoot (it used to be the design studio), my own computer, my own desk and my own corner - so I’m super cool!

Anyway… I’m still going to free-lance and hopefully get my portfolio better so I can move on. I know I don’t want to do this job forever. LOL This is just to help us catch up on stuff and maybe help us get ahead a bit… *wishful thinking* I want to be at least shopping around my portfolio to art directors by this time next year.

I’ve been slaving over my Photography Portfolio for numerous hours and days (even though it might not look like it… LOL) - check it out and comment on it! If you know anyone in Cali who needs a photographer, have them hit me up.

I’m trying really hard to be a good girl - can you get me this stuff for Christmas? There’s a half-year left - start saving up now. LOL

I just got back from the Speed Racer premiere. Ricci looked lovely! :cute:  You can read a mini-review and see some pictures at the COCR forums - the whole set of photos is in the gallery at COCR. It was great - but hot (like 90 degrees) - until PETA showed up. Now, I’m all for animal rights, but because they showed up none of the people at the premiere came over to sign things for us. :stress: They were protesting because of the monkey being in a movie, but don’t you think they should of protested when the movie was being made? It wasn’t like they walked the monkey down the red carpet… pfft… Whatever, I’ll end it with a picture of the lovely Christina - I’ll see her again on the 7th at Kimmel! *dances*

Did you know, since I’ve been done with Brooks (which was in December), I haven’t set up or taken 1 portrait?.! I’ve only shot 3 concerts since then… I think I’m going through a creative withdrawal, or some kind of thing where I don’t do what I’ve spent so much time doing for so long. I dunno… I haven’t wanted to look for models, stylists, make-up artists, locations, etc. to take 1 picture that I might be able to use in my book. I think my current attitude is the problem? blah… I’m hoping this summer I’ll be more inspired to do something pertaining to what I’ve spent so much money, time and a big chunk of my life on.
